The RE-IMAGYN BC (Relationship and Gender Equity Measurement Among Gender-Inclusive Young Women and Non-Binary Youth) study is focused on co-creating diverse understandings of gender and relationship equity amongst queer, trans, and or non-monogamous youth. The study team is composed of youth research associates and Simon Fraser University researchers.

The Magazine was created as part of their youth-led, community-based qualitative research process. It features art created by young women and non-binary youth as part of the collaborative research process.

Policy & Practice Implications

  • The Magazine’s mix of youth-generated art and reflections on relationship equity showcases a creative and relational approach to collecting and presenting qualitative data.
  • Researchers can learn from the participatory methods of data collection, analysis, and presentation to inform their own capacity building and community-engaged research.
