Summary

PolicyWise for Children & Families partnered with The Alex and Trellis Society to co-create an approach to collaborate. Together they aimed to improve the coordination of services for youth who are homeless or at risk for homelessness. The Towards Preventing Youth Homelessness Report discusses their experience with this approach and lessons learned. The Report is part of PolicyWise’s youth homelessness prevention collaboration work

Policy & Practice Implications

  • Community service providers learn steps to move towards collaboration. Knowing the lessons learned in this project can increase success in efforts to collaborate using data.

  • Community staff learn common barriers to collaboration and how to address them.

  • Funders learn how their funding can support community collaboration.

  • Policy makers can use this work to enable more realistic policies to increase collaboration.
